Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell -- Together Again on American Idol!

Lots happening with the American Idol final!!

First, there will be the highly talented vocals by Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze. Just that would be plenty enough!

But former judge Paula Abdul, who is slated to host "Got To Dance" next season, will show up for judge Simon Cowell's farewell -- Christina Aguilera too! Simon and Paula delighted fans during past seasons with a weekly comedy routine -- of playfully giving each other jabs back when Paula sat right next to Simon on the judges panel.

There has also been speculation that best friends Simon and Paul might work together on Simon's "The X Factor" next season. Cowell has been vocal in admitting that he has missed Paula on Idol -- and opined that at least part of the reason for American Idol's drop in ratings this season is Paula's absence.

What a team -- Simon and Paula. Next year could be quite a year with American Idol returning -- and Simon and Paula with shows too!

Head-to-head competition -- The American Idol final 2010 promises to be one of the most powerful and exhilerating battles in the show's history.

Lee DeWyze, straight from a goosebump inspiring semi-final performance of Leonard Cohen composed "Hallelujah", seems the front-runner as the competition nears the finish line.

But how can powerful Crystal Bowersox -- seemingly a reincarnation of packed-with-soul Janis Joplin -- be counted out! During the competition Bowersox indeed wailed the Joplin mega-hit, Me and Bobby McGee -- and did Joplin proud.

One has to believe that a Bowersox performance of Joplin's "Cry Baby", if she should perform it, could illuminate the studio audience and voters equally as much as DeWyze's powerful "Hallelujah." Certainly, short of Joplin, no one could sing "Cry Baby" better than Bowersox!

Indeed, Bowersox and Joplin not only exude that gritty and bluesy "soul" in their style and their performances, but at the very heart of their music they seem "soul sisters." Even without sound, their faces clearly display the emotion of songs -- love, heartache, sorrow or happiness. Their intensity and edginess cannot be matched.

But Bowersox will need to be at her best next week, taking every risk and pulling out all of the stops, to overtake DeWyze, already labeled by many as the season winner.

DeWyze's task will be to remind fans of his finest "moment" -- his performance of Hallelujah -- by following it with equally impressive compositions. He has the talent -- and he has the edge. So for him a win will come easier than for Bowersox to has to overtake his lead in the stretch.

The American Idol final next week should be a once-in-a-lifetime battle of two equally talented performers. Both Bowersox and DeWyze have shown their willingness to pour heart and soul into their numbers -- and it promises to be entertaining and interesting to see who will capture the coveted American Idol crown.

The only thing that is clear today: no matter who wins -- Bowersox or DeWyze -- either has the magic to sit on the American Idol royal throne and be counted among the most talented artists in American Idol show history!

Did anyone think that Casey would survive this week's American Idol cut? Notes posted around the Internet overwhelmingly opined that it was time for Casey to leave -- and, indeed, the Idol judges seemed to be ready to lead him to the door.

But what a run it has been for North Texas' Casey James!

"I'm so thankful for the opportunity," smiled James -- even after his elimination. "It's been an amazing, amazing journey and I'm so thankful that I'm here.

As with departing contestants, James got to sing a farewell song. He chose John Mayer's Daughters -- which had been judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi's choice for him in this week's competition. Confident, smiling and seemingly still happy, James delivered the song with ample tenderness and style.

There was a sense that Casey may have expected that it was his week to go -- and that he was ready to move on to the Idol tour and showing America that he deserves to be a star.

Indeed, elimination from the American Idol competition often signals less about defeat and more about moving ahead in a career. Runner-up Adam Lambert has become a super star -- as has Chris Daughtry. And how about Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee, Clay Aiken and Kimberley Locke -- none of whom won the American Idol coveted crown!

“I never thought I'd get this far,” Casey admitted to host Ryan Seacrest. “But to me, it's like winning $10 million in the lottery and $100 million in the lottery. It's so much more than I expected, so it can't be bad.”

As the Dallas News reports: "For a guy who doesn't own a TV — and drove all night to auditions in Denver at the urging of his mom, who lent him her truck because there was no way his would make the trip — landing in the semifinals of the world's most popular talent show proved a bit overwhelming. As James Casey watched footage of last week's screaming-filled visit to North Texas Dallas/Fort Worth and his hometown of Cool, he fought back tears."

Ellen's song choice for Crystal Bowersox -- a song meant for a man to sing to a woman!

Singers often opine that it is important to "feel" a song, to relate to the lyrics.

It was probably a bit difficult for Crystal Bowersox to relate to the words of the song that judge Ellen DeGeneres selected for her to sing on this week's show -- a song composed by Paul McCartney for his wife Linda and meant to be sung by a man to a woman.

But Bowersox, the ultimate artist, was unflappable.

She belted out "Maybe I'm Amazed" -- and was so powerful and "amazing" that she rose far above any difficulty with the words. Good for her!!

Two "American Idol" top talents will battle for the crown and the throne -- but after last night's performance, it seems that the royal title might actually be determined by the shows judges instead of the performances of the contestants themselves.

Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze each opened the show with a song they chose themselves. James delivered a bland "OK, It's Alright With Me." The judges twisted their faces and words into an eventual assessment that while he sang well, the song choice was not the best and not equal to this stage of the competition when he needed "a moment."

Bowersox, complete with guitar and harmonica holder, belted a powerful version of Melissa Etheridge's "Come to My Window." As judge Simon Cowell opined, it was classic Bowersox -- who is always true to herself. The judges said that they generally liked the performance, but felt it was not the best version of the song and at times the song seemed so big that it got away from her.

DeWyze sang "Simple Man" -- and judge Randy Jackson enthused that the singer not only lived up to the song, but showed that he had confidence that he could really win. The judges handed to first round to DeWyze.

But there was still another chance to shine -- as the vocalists performed songs chosen by the judges. And this seems where results might actually have been solidified -- by the judges.

On "Do or die night," James sang a "sensitive" "Daughters" -- because his fans are largely women and girls. He sang well -- nothing wrong, but the song, chosen by Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi, was not impressive or powerful enough to offer James a shot. What could he do? It seemed that there was never meant to be a "moment" in the song.

Bowersox belted Ellen DeGeneres' choice of Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed." She filled the stage with an emotional journey, a captivating Janis Joplin-soulful version that brought the audience to its feet. Jackson declared that that it was terrific and proved that she was "in it to win it." Wow!

But DeWyze had the deck stacked in his favor -- last spot, the memorable spot and judge Simon Cowell, legendary for his talent in song choice, picking for him. During the break, Cowell chatted with DeWyze -- and it was obvious that the pair had strategized with Lee likely receiving the best in advice and guidance from Cowell all week. Cowell gave DeWyze what is probably the greatest song choices of all time -- Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." DeWyze's version was gritty, magical -- and he was the only performer backed up by a multi-member, volume-raising choir. The song, the "help" from Cowell and the choir gave DeWyze an absolute edge -- and the judges responded by oozing compliments and declaring that the evening belonged to DeWyze.

With that one song, Lee DeWyze surged into the spot of front-runner, and Bowersox suffered from being out-manuvered (thanks to an assignment of Ellen as her judge instead of Simon) despite a spectacular performance. Although DeWyze clearly was up to his task, there was a sense that the most powerful performance and win of the evening was orchestrated by Simon Cowell who was a king while the other players performed for their singers as pawns.

Clearly Cowell groomed DeWyze to win -- and DeWyze became the luckiest songman in the world, for that evening at least!

Except for a freaky surprise, Bowersox and DeWyze will be the contestants with the final shot at the American Idol title and crown!

Changes for American Idol next fall

"American Idol" will see some major changes next fall. Not only will the world's arguably most talked about tv reality judge, Simon Cowell, be missing, but the time alloted to segments of the talent show will offer some changes as well.

Performance night on Tuesday will most often be 90 minutes long, and the results show -- often called the "kick-off night" -- will be sliced to just 30 minutes. The show's ratings have declined 9 percent this season, according to reports, and the hope seems to be that tightening the schedule will return ratings to match its highest ratings levels.

Fox revealed that an energetic search will begin this summer for a Cowell replacement.

"We have to find a judge to replace Simon that provides both music credibility and incredible entertainment value," explained Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment for the Fox Networks Group.

Some fans, though, wonder if the show can retain its luster without Cowell and his generally blunt critique of contestant performances. Cowell is leaving Idol to prepare "X Factor" for a U.S. debut.

One day after American Idol judge Simon Cowell quashed rumors that he had plans for a dance competition show in the works, a new rumor has surfaced that it isn't a dance show -- it is an American version of The X Factor.

It makes sense. All the pieces are there -- they have already tried it, and it was a mountainous success!

So talk is that Fox and Cowell are working out the final details on a contract to keep Cowell around for two more years of American Idol -- and to bring The X Factor across the Atlantic to the American shores. The numbers circulating are big -- that he may earn about $50 million a season for American Idol, and possibly an equal amount for The X Factor should that be successful in the U.S.

Cowell apparently would be executive producer of The X Factor, but it is unknown whether he plans to sit on the judging panel too. But there is chatter that this might be Cowell's chance to work with his buddy and departed American Idol judge Paula Abdul by bringing her on as a judge for The X Factor. That could be a prudent move -- that would please all of the Abdul fans who have been less than happy that Fox replaced Abdul on American Idol, a show she helped launch from the get-go.

Rumor has it that American Idol Simon Cowell is busily planning a dance competition show!

Cowell is reportedly chatting with his British friend, Ian Burton, about starting the dance contest show. Burton has record label experience and has also managed dancers.

"It's his own SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance) show," a source told The Insider. "He is always trying to do his own thing to compete with the Idol team. Now he is trying to steal the SYTYCD thunder.”

First newly signed American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres crosses over from talk show host to judge -- and now Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is going to take a stab at hosting a talk show.

DioGuardi, according to ABC, will sit in as guest co-host on the Oct. 15 segment of The View, replacing Elisabeth Hasselbeck who is on maternity leave after giving birth to her third child last month.

DioGuardi was first on The View appearance in May when she spoke of the sexuality of eighth-season runner-up Adam Lambert prior to his officially coming out of the closet about a month later.

"I don't think that Adam was ever 'in' so I'm not... you know, I think he was always openly out," DioGardi told The View host Barbara Walters during the May appearance, according to RealityWorld. A man who assaulted a security guard who was trying to prevent him from entering a car occupied by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years probation, according to news reports.

On Friday Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr., 25, of Lakewood was sentenced after pleading guilty to three misdemeanors: assault, battery and possession of a switchblade knife.

Uzomah was also ordered to stay away from both Children's Hospital and Seacrest.

Seacrest had been at the hospital for a charity appearance.

"It's called Dropped,"DioGuardi told nymagazine. "I'm starting to shop it now. It takes the best acts that have been dropped and gives them a second chance. You look at Katy Perry, the Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, and Lady Gaga, they all have one thing in common: They've all been dropped from their labels. I was dropped. So You Think You Can Dance executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is happy enough with the outcome because he hopes to have Abdul make appearances as a guest judge on his dance competition show. And he told EW, "I'd prefer Paula. "I think it is a great idea to put her on."

And now that DeGeneres is taking Abdul's seat on the American Idol judging panel, Abdul is free to make other plans for her career.

Some fans have expressed that Abdul on SYTYCD makes a lot of sense because of her dancing and choreography background -- but that they cannot understand why Idol would choose a judge from outside the music industry.

"I would really love to see Paula on So You Think You Can Dance," opined Melissa Parker from Los Angeles. "But I really don't know whether I will like American Idol with Ellen as a judge. She's fine on her talk show, but I think that is her strength."

Lythgoe thinks that DeGeneres will do well on Idol. “What it does is give the public, who are the people who decide in the end who is crowned the victor, a voice on the judges panel," Lythgoe told EW. "And they have never had that before."

In an interview with People, DeGeneres explained that it was her guest judging on an episode of So You Think You Can Dance that drew the attention of Idol judges to her.

DeGeneres said that on American Idol, she intends to be a compassionate judge, but that she will also be honest in assessing the contestant's performances. “I think it’s going to be hard, but as my career has grown," she told People. American Idol has its new fourth judge -- popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Fox announced that the comedian and talk show host will join regular judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the upcoming season of the talent competition show when it resumes in January.

The announcement took many Idol fans by surprise, especially since DeGeneres has no formal music experience.

The announcement also will likely dash the hopes of Idol fans who hoped that eventually Paula Abdul would be brought back onto the show.

DeGeneres reportedly assured her talk show audience that she will not be abandoning her talk show, but would simply have "a day job and a night job."

There have been a series of judges taking turns in the fourth judge's seat while Fox sought a replacement for Abdul -- and since those judges had generally had strong musical backgrounds, it was generally expected that Abdul's permanent replacement would also emerge from the music industry.

"Hopefully, I'm the people's point of view because I'm just like you," DeGeneres said on her show. "I sit at home and I watch it, and I don't have that technical ... Gokey had been hinting for weeks that a record deal would be announced soon -- and that it would be in the country genre.

"There were country songs that I performed on the show, and it was the message and the feeling in those kinds of songs that helped me realize that country is where I belong."

American Idol David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta had to submit to swine blue checks by government doctors after they landed in the Philippines for a concern, The Vancouver Sun reports.

Cook and Archuleta immediately contacted their lawyers when quarantine officials arrived at their hotel rooms late Wednesday, a day after their arrival, the Sun detailed.

"The officials were enforcing health regulations aimed at keeping the Southeast Asian nation of 90 million people free of the A(H1N1) virus, said Edgardo Sabitsana, director of the quarantine bureau," reported the Sun. "Sabitsana told reporters it took almost three hours to persuade the celebrities to meet the quarantine officials and that during that time the two Americans contacted their lawyers.

"He said the officials stressed to the two artists that the government could hold, arrest or detain people or even ban the planned concert over concerns about swine flu," continued the Sun. "The officials are scheduled to visit Cook and Archuleta again on Thursday, and their managers also pledged to have both checked for flu symptoms at least twice a day, Sabitsana said."

Philippine Health Secretary Francisco Duque said that by Thursday, there were no confirmed cases of the virus there. But he added that at public gatherings guidlines from the health department needed to be followed, and "this is now being applied to David Cook and David Archuleta."

When 27-year-old British school teacher Danyl Johnson stepped onto the stage and belted out an energetic rendition of the Beatles "With A Little Help From My Friends," he must have been living his dream come true.

Prior to his audition, Johnson, who was playing hookey from school, said, "I am so nervous to get on that stage. It means so much to me. ... It would be amazing to go back to school and make everyone proud."

On stage, after a few moments of preparations and silence, Johnson began the first slow notes of his performance. But within seconds the tempo accelerated to a more feverish pace as he first sat on the side of the stage before the judges and then moved to take over and covered the entire stage.

Hopefuls began to fall into line in pre-dawn hours, some of them hoping to begin a journey toward becoming the next American Idol -- and some, especially young girls, hoping for a glimpse of Jonas. These hopefuls, by the way, "are cautioned not to talk with the media, and the auditions are closed to reporters from outlets other than Fox News," reports Dallas News.

Allen said that Chris Daughtry, finalist in 2006 and now frontman for the band Daughtry, advised him early on to get as much sleep as he could.

In speaking of Daughtry, Allen explained, "We've dealt with a lot of the same people, gone through the same things. There are good things about it, bad things about it -- there's plenty to talk about with each other. People said that once you get onto the show and made it that far, you're in this ... fraternity, and it's true. We all have each other's back."

Further evidence of the fraternity among Idol finalists of different seasons is checking them on Twitter. Each of the finalists can be observed not only following finalists of their own season, but finalists of other seasons as well.

Paula is criticial to American Idol's success, says former Idol finalist Bo Bice.

"If you took away Randy or you took away Paula or you took away Simon, you're changing the dynamic of what made the show great," Fox news quoted Bice who recently had the opportunity to entertain troops in Afghanistan.

"I don't think it (American Idol) could equally handle the loss on either end of which way the teeter tot goes," he added, "whether it be Simon or Paula. It's like having a hit show, take Joey out of 'Friends' ... would it still be still be just as big of a hit?"

While Abdul's manager says that Idol executives and Abdul are not in talks for her return to American Idol, he added that other offers have been flooding in. But thus far no solid deals have reported as inked. ABC wanted Paula for a celebrity dance gig on Dancing With the Stars and a guest spot on Ugly Betty, but that deal never happened.

Nigel Lythgoe, judge of So You Think You Can Dance, told extra, "We're still talking and we will continue to talk ... I would still like to see her do 'American Idol,' with guesting on 'So You Think You Can Dance' -- that would be perfect for me."

And Idol fans are frustrated that American Idol appears unwilling to do what it takes to get their "judge with a heart" back on the show. Phil Stacey appeared a little bit country and maybe even a little bit rock 'n roll on American Idol, but with his new album he is showing who Phil Stacey actually is and being true to himself.

The new album, Into the Light, is being released on Sony's Christian label on August 25, 2009.

"Even on my country record, every song was based on a Bible verse, to me," Stacey told kypost.com. "People who knew Christian music would say, 'How could you put a John Waller song on a country CD," Stacey said, referring to a modern Christian worship leader and songwriter.

But Stacey has made a recent move "from Disney's county label to Sony's Christian label." It is the same label as Christian music star Michael W. Smith. Stacey and Smith also share a manager -- and on Stacey recorded his new album with Christian music's legendary Brown Bannister who has worked with Smith and Amy Grant.

"It was intimidating going into the studio with someone who has worked which such gifted people," Stacey told kypost. " But at the end of the day, he started out as a youth pastor, and he has a minister's heart, which set my nerves at east. We talked about the Bible and verses behind songs, and prayed before tracking. I admire Brown more as a person than for his musical background."

And this fall Stacey will be touring with Smith. "He has been so encouraging," Stacey revealed in his interview. "He'd send me texts like, 'Phil, I really like this record,' which meant the world to me."

Since his stint on American Idol, Stacey has not been able to get to Kentucky much. "Most of my family lives in Richmond," Stacey said. "My family has three or four farms out there, so I do consider Richmond home. I'm a diehard UK fan."
He did, though, sing at a rally at Man O' War Church of God which his uncle is the pastor. Stacey, by the way, is the son of a pastor, grandson of two pastors and was once a music minister himself!

On myspace, Stacey reveals, "I enjoy talking about the music, too. In fact, I love it. But the biggest hope I have is that what I do will help draw people to God -- whether that's through the songs I write, how I conduct myself on stage, or more importantly, the ways I relate to other people. Everything I did with American Idol has readied me for this platform and this album. This is where I feel at home and I can't wait for people to hear these songs."

Stacey also revealed that he had just learned that "my new song will be featured on WOW Hits 2010!!! Whoohoo!" Wow is an annual compilation album which each year features top contemporary Christian music.

“It suddenly seems that those guest judges due to take musical chairs-like turns in Abdul’s old ‘Idol’ seat aren’t just filling in; they’re also helping Fox suits and their marketing associates figure out how much the past panelist is worth.”

“Fox loves focus groups,” an insider was said to have revealed to RadarOnline. “If Paula consistently scores far higher than any other person in her chair, they will feel compelled to make her an offer she can’t refuse and make this deal happen.”

And a source described as close to Abdul reportedly revealed that Abdul believes that is what will happen – that she feels confident that the show can’t go on without her.

“There will be four judges at ‘American Idol’ come January,” a separate insider is quoted. “And that fourth judge will be Paula Abdul.”

American Idol Kris Allen answered some questions during a telephone interview with clevelandnews this week.

When asked whether winning American Idol had finally "sunk in," Allen responded, "I don't know if it's something that will ever totally sink in. The part that is definitely becoming evident is that I get to make an album. We're working on that right now. That's probably the biggest part for me, that I get to do something like that."

And upon being asked which of the Idol finalists he hangs out with the most, Allen revealed that they actually all hang out together a lot. "We have a lot of downtime at the arenas. We just joke around. Do nothing. Talk to each other. And then we spend a lot of time on the bus, watching "Family Guy" or DVDs. On our days off, me and Adam are usually doing things together."

Allen says that he and Adam Lambert are great friends, and it does not bother him in the least to share the spotlight with the Idol runner-up. "I'm a low-key guy," he said. "I don't demand any attention myself. I'm not saying that Adam does. It just kind of comes with who he is. I lay low and do my thing."

Two former Idol winners have helped Allen a great deal, he said. "The two people I've probably talked to the most would be Chris Daughtry and David Cook. Those guys have been super-successful. Having success like either one of those guys would be great."

American Idol executives seem to be working feverishly to fill the spot once held by Paula Abdul.

Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige and Shania Twain have already jumped on board. And now reportedly close to confirmation are Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and first American Idol Kelly Clarkson.

Both Joe Jonas and Kelly Clarkson are close to deals reports the latimes.

Clarkson has made several trips back to Idol to perform since she was crowned the show's original winner. Currently she is touring in promotion of her latest album, "All I Ever Wanted."

Paula is "TV gold," American Idol judge Simon Cowell told foxnews today.

"She's taken the decision in her life now, which you have to respect her for making the decision," Cowell told Foxnews. "I didn't want to get involved in what was going on because it wasn't really any of my business. But I spoke to her a lot through the whole process.

"I always thought that she was the heart of the show," he continued. "I'm not the heart. I'm not even the brain actually. But she was the heart, so you've taken that away so it's a different show. I'm sad, I am. I'll probably see her next week. I'm going to listen to what she wants to do next. I will support her in anything she wants to do next. I think she is TV gold, genuinely."

Msnbc reported today that American Idol executives and Paula are in "talks" about her possible return to the show.

And Khabein.info reports that Cowell is actually trying to help Paula get back on American Idol. They say that after Paula announced on Twitter that she would leave Idol, she panicked and frantically called Simon to ask him to help her get her job back.

"She cried to Simon, 'I didn't know what I was doing. Please help me save my job," Khabein offered as a quote from an unnamed Idol staffer.

Many of Paula's fans say that they want her back on American Idol, but are growing weary with Idol executives who simply need to get the deal done.

There was a special anticipation and excitement around the release of Dancing With the Stars’ celebrity line-up. And that excitement was less about the list in general than about whether Paula Abdul’s name would be there.

Alas, the list was revealed – and there was no Paula. But that only fueled speculation that perhaps Idol executives and Paula might be talking about her return to the show again. Would Paula return to Idol after all? Her fans certainly hoped so!

“The people at the very top of ABC were really vocal about getting her (Paula) on board for ‘Dancing,” msnbc quoted a source familiar with talks between the network execs and the Idol former judge. “By not exactly keeping it secret, it made Paula’s value more apparent to Fox.”

The negotiations are called “talks” by msnbc – “since dubbing them ‘negotiations' suggests that one side is budging.

“Paula isn’t lowering her price in any meaningful way. She wants a Seacrest-level deal,” msnbc quotes the source. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest reportedly inked a three-year, $45 million deal.

“If there is a scenario that gets Abdul back on the show, it’s likely that her return would be limited to the live shows only, according to several people who are close to the talks. This will allow the original offer made by the show to stand, but Abdul would have a shorter time commitment,” offers the msnbc article.

ABC was extremely disappointed that they were unable to nap Paula. “They didn’t really want Tom DeLay as their most-buzzed-about contestant,” a source told msnbc.

Throughout the summer Abdul has always expressed that she wanted to return to the American Idol judging panel – and there has been chatter that her friend and fellow judge Simon Cowell has been supporting her behind the scenes. Judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi have apparently been supportive as well.

So with talks resumed and a real possibility that she might be back on Idol, it is no wonder that Paula sounds so happy in her Twitter messages.

On Twitter, Paula wrote, "I feel like a normal girl getting some time off 2 take care of myself & 2 hang out w/family & friends, but it won't be for long!"

That sounds like Paula knows where she is headed -- and that it will happen soon!

She also wrote, "If you don't like something, change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it"

Is Paula possibly changing the way she is thinking about the contract offer from American Idol execx?

Not sure if this Twitter address was for "the" actual Ryan Seacrest, but Boston sounds right for at least someone connected to the Idol show.

On Aug 14th that same address posted some Paula related Tweets: a retweet of Paula's quote, "'The best way out is always through' - Robert Frost." And it had a @PaulaAbdul Follow Friday, along with a @PaulaAbdul, "Hang in there kiddo ;)"

Paula also told fans that she was getting medical appointments out of the way. She wrote that she had her teeth cleaned, and added "I was accosted in an underground parking lot with my chiropractor running interference! and it didn't end there! thank god for my officer friend mike who stopped traffic to assist in the great escape"

Paula also wrote that she took her office out to lunch.

Could the lunch have been a celebration -- perhaps of a deal? And were the medical appointments to clear the schedule for upcoming work?

Whatever is going on, Paula seemed in high spirits, writing, "I've having a wonderful weekend!" and "Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend! What a beautiful day to get outside!"

Leaving Paula's Twitter messages aside, there is word that Paula really wants to be back on American Idol. "Sources connected to Paula Abdul say Miss Paula wants back on 'American Idol," reports TMZ.

"Our sources say Paula's Twitter is retracted -- at least in her mind -- if the price is right. As we first reported, the magic number is $10 million," continues TMZ.

Also, Paula's meetings with ABC "didn't really go anywhere," said TMZ. "She doesn't want to do 'Dancing with the Stars' -- we're told, in no small part, because she wants to be able to jump on a plane at a moment's notice to rejoin her fellow judges on 'Idol.'" As the story goes, Paula also got miffed at the producers of "Ugly Betty" for leaking that they were talking to her about doing the show -- "She's not going to do it now," added TMZ. "As for 'Idol,' as far as we know they've been pretty hard-nosed and haven't contacted her reps, but we're not positive. In the end, we're thinking 'A.I.' isn't gonna let a little Twitter torpedo one of its golden geese."

But TMZ posted an update revealing that Paula was sighted at Boa on Saturday night -- that she "didn't quite know ... whether or not she would be joining 'Dancing with the Stars.' Hmmm ..."

Of course, first American Idol Kelly Clarkson has opined to MTV that she thinks the American Idol/Paula thing is all about "drama" -- and that Paula will return to Idol.

"I totally think they're doing that for drama," Clarkson said. "I know those producers -- they're doing that for drama. She's totally probably going to come back."

So everyone has an opinion and is trying to follow the clues to where Paula will go next.

One clue may come on Monday morning when Dancing With the Stars releases the names of competitors for this season. If Paula's name is not among them, it may be a clue that she has not inked a deal with ABC.

Oh, theurbandaily has reported that Paula "is secretly planning to launch her own daytime talk show -- even if her bosses at American Idol met her ... salary demands for the hit show's ninth season."

"Paula is unpredictable and not afraid to speak her mind -- but she also leads from the heart and really connects with people," theurbandaily quotes its source. "Studio execs feel those are the kind of personal attributes that would make her perfect for a daytime talk show."

So the saga continues. Where will Paula go next? What possible deals are in the works -- or even already spelled out in a possible contract deal?

MARY J BLIGE WILL GUEST JUDGE ON AMERICAN IDOL

The series of guest judges keeps coming as fans wait to hear "for sure" that Paula will not be back (it does not look like she will) -- and who will permanently replace her.

The newest guest judge announced is the Grammy Award winning R&B singer Mary J. Blige. Her turn in the judge's chair will come when Idol auditions move to Atlanta.

Victoria Beckham's last day in the guest judge slot was Friday, Aug 14. "The judges and production team have been having a lot of fun with Victoria," a source told MTV. But Beckham, through a spokesman, said that she is not in talks with Idol to become a permanent Idol judge.

Katy Perry is expected to guest judge, but the dates of her stint have not yet been announced.

Fox chairman of entertainment has said that the show expects to name a replacement for Paula by January. "Obviously, there is going to be a different dynamic," he said, "and there is something exciting about that."

If such a deal is in the works, there also might be a rush to finalize arrangements because the names of celebrity competitors for the upcoming season on Dancing With the Stars are to be announced on the Good Morning America show on Monday.

The guessing game continues -- who will take Paula's place on American Idol?

Victoria Beckham, “Posh,” who was apparently asked to be a guest judge by Simon Cowell, returned for a second round when American Idol auditions moved to Boston. Rumors circulated that Beckham might actually be aboard Idol for more than just one episode, but her representative told Access Hollywood that she had been asked to go to Boston because Denver went so well – not because of plans to add her as a regular on the judging panel.

While former judge Paula Abdul is a hot commodity receiving high interest from the major networks, there also seems no shortage of celebrities who want to sit in what was Abdul’s full-time Idol chair. Beckham seems happy to have the slot at least temporarily. And from her comments, it sounds like she might be signaling that would like Paula's old job full-time.

Also, in a recent interview La Toya Jackson, who has decided against competing on Dancing With the Stars, said that she would love to judge on Idol.

“It’s great to be a part of something where you find a new talent,” Beckham told boston.com. “I’ve been there. … I’m a performer. That’s what made me famous. That’s what I did.” And she added, “I’m the biggest ‘American Idol’ fan.” It all sounded a bit like posting a resume? Hmmmmm.....

And Ryan Seacrest voiced, “Posh is a different kind of judge for us because not only is she a performer, but she’s also got the whole package.”

CKX, parent of American Idol, and Beckham have an association that began before her new Idol judge stint. Beckham and her husband, English soccer great David Beckham, were earlier listed as on CKX's roster -- and CKX's wholly owned subsidiary 19 Entertainment reported that its growing fashion portfolio includes an association with Victoria Beckham's dress collection.

So it would seem that adding Beckham to the show is supporting a celebrity in which CKX already has a significant financial interest.

But the saga continues -- who will get the coveted title of Paula's replacement on American Idol.

AMERICAN IDOL TOUR DRAWING LARGE CROWDS

During the current economic crisis, there are some things that Americans will still spend their money to buy -- and it appears that among those items are tickets for the American Idol concert tour.

The tour, which features current American Idol Kris Allen and nine finalists, is reportedly selling 82 percent of tickets and has grossed $11.2 million which is about the same as last year's tour at the same point.

The first 19 shows of this tour averaged 9,456 attendees per city, very close to last year's 9,771 for the same period, according to Billboard Boxscores.

In the industry aboout 40 percent of tickets go unsold, Billboard senior touring editor Ray Waddell told USA Today. "They're doing better than average," he explained. "These are baby acts on their first national tour, even if they have had the best exposure you can get."

The tour numbers may be helped by the fact that both American Idol Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert were favorites with a huge fan base, and several of the other finalists developed significant followings as well. Also, there is the theory that it is helpful that seven of the top ten performers are guys since Idol concerts tend to draw a high percentage of girls.

"Adam Lambert may have lost to Kris Allen on 'American Idol,' but judging by the summer tour, the competition for the hearts of the fans (and critics) is still on," reported Newsday.

Twitter messages and online reviews reveal that fans have overwhelmingly been thrilled with the tour performances. And word-of-mouth reviews from one fan to another could also have an impact on ticket sales.

Besides Allen and Lambert, Idol finalists performing are Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy, Michael Sarver and Scott MacIntyre.

DAUGHTRY: THE COMPLETE BAND

When American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry made his first album, the only member of Daughtry was Chris himself. "Session guys" were used to fill the musical void. But today the Daughtry band is complete and loaded with the kind of musical talent that the frontman can rely on. And the total expertise of the group is exposed in Daughtry's powerful new album, "Leave This Town."

In fact, when Daughtry's first album was in the works, he was still auditioning for his band -- that consists of guitarists Josh Steely and Brian Craddock, bassist Josh Paul and drummer and pianist Joey Barnes.

"With 'Leave This Town,' Daughtry finally has the opportunity to silence those who see Daughtry as a one man band," wrote Nekesa Mumbi Moody in a SFGate article. "Besides playing on the record, band members contributed to the writing and arrangements."

"There are a lot of elements that make up what we do," guitarist Craddock is quoted. "Each member kind of brings something different to the table, too, and each member has a function in the band. They know what they do well, and when it all comes together ... it blends so perfectly together."

In speaking of this second Daughtry album, Craddock added, "I felt like we were able to craft the songs, into being a perfect musical arrangement on each tune, which I don't feel that way about every song I've written in my lifetime. We were able to go in there and take our time, relax and everything was able to come out perfectly."

Leave This Town was Daughtry's first album to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 and its second consecutive No. 1 album.

"This album is special because its out first together as a band," said Chris Daughtry. We poured our hearts into these songs to make the record we've always dreamed about. To have people respond the way they have is extremely gratifying, but even more humbling."

HAVE PAULA RUMORS GONE TOO FAR?

There have been dozens of rumors about why American Idol and Paula Abdul might be parting ways, but now a new possibility has emerged. Is this one over the top?

"Though money is a probable reason for her quick jump off the Idol train, other rumors are circulating about Paula's appearance," states an article posted on theplasticsurgerychannel.com. "With an intense and sometimes painful beauty regimen, Paula is fighting the war against wrinkles like all of the stars her age. Did her on-camera appearance play a role in her getting the boot?"

"Paula may have had some work done in the past," speculated Dr. Tony Youn in the article. "I see two major plastic surgery possibilities. First, her nose looks thinner and shorter, possibly due to a rhinoplasty. Second, her eyebrows appear to have that arched 'Botox Brow' look."

Idol judge Simon Cowell has admitted that he has had Botox -- and believes that many other celebrities have too. But he considers it a "who cares" kind of issue. And "So You Think You Can Dance" judge Mary Murphy didn't mind revealing on that show that she has had Botox.

Whether Abdul has resorted to Botox or any other means for retaining her youthful glow, it seems that Cowell probably does not care. And it seems that Paula fans who want her back on Idol don't care either! As for Fox, who knows -- but obviously, it seems that their attitude should, like Cowell's, be one of "who cares" also!

Paula Abdul reportedly has been offered a chance to judge on Idol, but it is Idol in Australia, not Idol in the USA, according to newsday.

The Australian Idols show has “put a request to strike a deal with her in writing,” according to Radaronline. The Australian version of the show should feel like home to Abdul because it is similar to the American version – has four judges and follows an almost identical format.

But rumors are also circulating that there is at least a glimmer of possibility that Paula might return to American Idol!

“Don’t count out a return to ‘American Idol’ for Paula,” a source is quoted on Radaronline. “Sure there are bad feelings, but a last-second return is not out of the question.” That source revealed that Idol judge Simon Cowell has been very supportive of Paula “behind the scenes” – that fellow judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi are also supportive.

Abdul, of course, has been described as disappointed that she was earning considerably less money than her male counterparts, felt that some show connections failed to do enough to defend her against rumors that she feels cost her endorsement deals – and felt that the addition of DioGuardi to the judging panel was a message from producers that she could be replaced.

The Idol show offered Abdul $5 million, half of what she wanted and far less than earning of both host Ryan Seacrest and judge Simon Cowell.

But perhaps with a return to contract negotiations, the hurt feelings can be mended and a deal agreed upon.

And while American Idol winners and contestants have overwhelmingly expressed disappointment and sadness that Abdul may not return to Idol, first season winner Kelly Clarkson feels that the situation is actually all about “drama,” reports MTV.

Clarkson, appearing on Morning Mashup Show, opined, “I totally think they’re doing that for drama. I know those producers – they’re doing that for drama. She’s totally probably going to come back.”

Meanwhile, there is no lack of interest in Paula from other possible suitors. And if the offers are good enough, what would it cost Idol executives to bring her back?

American Idol's Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson were among stars who partied with "lingerie-clad" models at the Playboy Mansion on Saturday night.

The annual "Midsummer Night's Dream" party, Hefner's biggest event of the year, was held at the 83-year-old Hef's Hombly Hills home. Men were expected to wear their finest pajamas, while the ladies were to don their skimpiest lingerie.

While the Idol trio's pj's were not described, it was reported that basketball star Shaquille O'Neal wore a pair of Superman boxers and a plain white t-shirt.

A total of 800 guests attended the party -- with the mansion said to be decorated in a Greco-Roman style with ostrich feather fans, painted murals and sequins.

Simon Cowell, who according to China Daily was among celebrities who recently “partied with lingerie-clad models at the infamous Playboy mansion", has been called so powerful that he “judges God.”

Britain’s “The X Factor” judge Dannii Minogue told mirror.co.uk that Cowell is so powerful that he “judges God. It’s astonishing. Let’s face it. Simon Cowell is looking down at God, judging him. To be around that is incredibly exciting, and an honor.”

Evidencing Cowell’s power, Minogue explained that the entire X Factor crew starts filming at midday simply because Cowell, a judge on that show as well as American Idol, works on an American time zone.

Minogue, currently in a relationship with rugby player Kris Smith, also didn’t mind admitting that she understands why women find Cowell attractive. “He is definitely a man with incredible appeal – his power, his magnetism and his raw honesty," she explained.

But folks who have attended American Idol tour concerts have been adding Matt Giraud to that list of very best Kris Allen/Adam Lambert quality performers.

After discussing those top four, Michael Slezak for EW.com wrote, "It seems, however, that fifth-place finisher Matt Giraud failed to get the memo about his role in the show, as he performed his three-song set with all of the energy and charisma of a headliner. Sure, Matt scored immediate dividends by kicking off his set with Otis Redding's impecable "Hard to Handle" -- a barn burner of a jam he never got to cover on the Idol stage -- but he did it with such swamp-funky commitment that even before he set the piano on fire two-thirds of the way into the number, he'd managed to shed any hint of the Justin Timberlake Wannabe Syndrome that plagued his Idol run."

Slezak also complimented on Giraud's other two songs, writing, "Matt stayed at the keyboard for an excellent "Georgia on my Mind" -- adding his signature hat as a nod to his hardcore fans -- and then closed things with The Fray's "You Found Me." This final performance found Matt less reliant on the runaway vibrato that marked his season 8 rendition of the song, and instead showcased an appealing rougher edge to his vocal that, while it could be attributed to a grueling couple of months on the road, ought to be something he strives to maintain going forward."

The Walson Sun's Rhonda Cloutier described Giraud's performance in the Duluth show, saying, "Holy Smokes! He was on fire with "Hard to Handle" starting out sans piano and midway through leaps onto the piano and wakes up the keys as if they were a heart that had stopped beating and given a shot of epinephrine. The piano came alive and there was no mercy given as Matt pounded the keys, jamming standing up and took the crowd along with him until spent, grateful for the sweet reprieve of "Georgia on My Mind." ... Dancing With the Stars' professional dancer Mark Ballas does not believe that Paula Abdul should be added to that show's already full judging panel, but would like to see her on the show as a dancing celebrity competitor.

Of course, Abdul, who is reportedly leaving American Idol, is meeting with several potential new employers -- and, while Dancing With the Stars executives have said that they would love to add Paula to the show, it remains unclear where she will eventually go or whether she will judge, choreograph, sing and/or dance. And So You Think You Can Dance producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe has been vocal in saying that he would love to have Paula join SYTYCD, probably as a guest judge and choreographer.

"I think we are good with our judges," Dancing With the Stars' Ballas told eonline. "I think she should be on the show as a competitor.

"She'd be great as a competitor," he said. "She's a great personality. Everybody loves her, and she makes great TV."

It is unlikely, though, that Abdul will be offered a spot on the Dancing With the Stars judging panel since show executive producer Conrad Green has opined that the judges table is "already full." But he, too, said that he would love to see Paula as a guest judge or as a competitor."

As to whether Abdul would even qualify to be a celebrity dancer instead of considered a professional dancer, Ballas explained, "She can't be a professional because she's not a ballroom or a Latin dancer."

Ballas also said that he does not yet know who he will be paired with this season, but that training will begin with his new partner in two weeks.

SIMON COWELL IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN ON AMERICAN IDOL FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER THREE YEARS

American Idol judge Simon Cowell is expected to remain on Idol for at least another three seasons, according to SKX chairman and CEO Robert Sillerman.

Sillerman, in a quarterly and six-month earnings report conference call indicated that Cowell is finalizing a deal with Fox that will keep him on American Idol for another three years.

Cowell has for months implied that he was tired of continuous travel between Britain and the US – and might actually cut back on his U.S. schedule and instead concentrate more on his work in Britain.

“We’ve heard from Fox, who has asked us for approval for Simon Cowell to appear for three more years on Idol,” Sillerman explained. “They, in their negotiations with Cowell, have asked us to pre-approve him not only for ‘American Idol’ 09, which has begun taping, but they have also asked us for approval for ’10 and ’11, indicating to us that they’re finishing their negotiations with Cowell. We did grant approval for that, quite obviously.”

No financial details regarding Cowell’s contract negotiations were revealed, but rumors are that Cowell may garner something in the neighborhood of $45 million under a new deal – an increase over the reported $36 million under his current contract.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest recently inked a three-year, $45 million deal for a return to Idol and other projects. Judge DioGuardi also has signed to return to Idol. And judge Randy Jackson is under contract through the coming season. But the show’s connections and judge Paula Abdul apparently suspended contract negotiations when they failed to reach a meeting of the minds on her salary. Both Fox and Abdul have indicated that she will not return to the American Idol show.

PAULA HAS BUSY WEEK OF NETWORK MEETINGS

"I've got a busy week filled with network meetings," she wrote on Twitter. "I'm looking forward to all the new projects up ahead."

But Paula didn't offer any details as to what the projects are and who she is meeting with.

Fans keep expressing that they wish that Fox would returns to contract negotiations with Paula and make a deal to return her to American Idol -- but so far Idol executives have not returned to the negotiating table and appear to be the only ones not showing an interest in Paula.

Dancing With the Stars executive producer Conrad Green said, "At the moment the world is (Paula's) oyster. Everyone wants her. At our show, we are great fans of Paula."

PAULA -- MISSED AT IDOL AUDITIONS

American Idol judge Simon Cowell, who has never been known to hold anything back, said that he was really missing Paula at Idol auditions in Denver.

"I'm going to miss her," Cowell lamented. "She's my buddy." But Cowell said that he has spoken with Paula every day since it was announced that she would leave the show -- and he is certain that she will be okay.

Cowell did say that Paula has been handling the entire situation of her departure from Idol well. While she has made it abundantly clear that she really wanted to remain on American Idol, she also said that she could not stay if Idol executives were not willing to treat her fairly. And, since contract negotiations seemingly fallen apart, apparently Paula feels that Idol execs indeed being unfair.

"Paula has been very cool about the whole thing," said Cowell. "And let me tell you, Paula is going to be fine."

Judge Randy Jackson has reacted similarly to Cowell. "We all love her," he said. "I think I may cry today. It's weird."

The final regular judge, Kara DioGuardi, said that she was wearing black -- in mourning. I'm very sad. She's sad, but it was her choice."

Somehow it seems that everyone is sad -- except for CKX and its wholly owned subsidiary 19 Entertainment that have been out spending their money elsewhere, this weekend buying controlling interest in a UK-modeling agency.

AFTER CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS APPARENTLY ARE ENDED WITH PAULA, 19 ENTERTAINMENT BUYS MAJORITY STAKE IN MODELING AGENCY

American Idol creator Simon Fuller’s company 19 Entertainment announced the acquisition of a 51 percent stake in UK-based Storm Model Management Ltd, the agency that’s roster includes models Kate Moss, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Carla Bruni and Emma Watson.

Of course, this announcement comes just weeks after 19 Entertainment and its parent CKX agreed to a $45 million deal with Ryan Seacrest that keeps him as host of its popular American Idol television show and apparently working on other projects. And it comes just weeks after the Idol executives and Idol judge Paula Abdul agreed that she would leave Idol – reportedly because an agreement could not be reached on a salary for Abdul.

Apparently Fuller and Storm’s owners have spent more than a year working the deal expected to “create new joint entertainment platforms for its talent, as well as developing the Storm brand in new and exciting directions.”

“With 19 moving more into the world of fashion and style, the opportunity to join forces with Storm … was irresistible,” commented Fuller. “Together we can push the boundaries, blur the lines and redefine what a model agency should be in this fast-moving world where fashion is playing an increasingly important role in setting and reflecting culture and tastes.”

19 Entertainment also revealed that its growing fashion portfolio includes a joint venture with Fashionair.com, Victoria Beckham’s critically acclaimed dress collection which sits alongside her denim and sunglasses lines, a multimillion-dollar fragrance partnership with Coty, and a joint venture with designer Roland Mouret.

CKX reported that the “deal is a continuation of (its) mission to form partnerships with high-value entertainment companies or individuals” – and lists among its current roster Muhammad Ali Enterprises, Elvis Presley Enterprises, David Beckham, Victoria Beckham, “American Idol” and “many others.”

Also, in a separate financial announcement today, CKX chairman and CEO Robert Sillerman said, “I am pleased at where the company sits at this time.”

SKX, for the six months ended June 30, 2009, saw revenue increase to $161.0 million from $153.7 million for the comparable period in 2008, according to the report. Operating income is listed as having declined from $45.3 million in 2008 to $34.8 million. And the 2009 results were said to include a “non-cash swing of $6.0 million in foreign exchange losses, as well as %5.8 million in unusual one-time costs.”

However, skipping to comments on American Idol, the report reads, “Revenue was flat at 19 Entertainment as new television programming offset declines in American Idol. The decrease in revenue attributable to American Idol was due to reduced foreign syndication revenue, lower ratings bonuses and weaker on and off air sponsorship revenue resulting from the global recession.”

“The predictability of our core business permitted us to more than double our development budget for 2009,” commented Sillerman. “With American Idol increasing its lead among the key demographics to unprecedented heights, with So You Think You Can Dance beginning an additional season in September of this year, with attendance at Graceland running ahead of last year in this quarter and with the Las Vegas-based Cirque du Soleil show on track to open at the end of this year, the base of our business continues to be solid. With others cutting back on development, we anticipate greater opportunities in both Television and Internet opportunities.”

Who will win the competition to have Paula Abdul headlining their show? "So You Think You Can Dance" wants her, possibly as guest judge and choreographer. "Dancing With the Stars" apparently wants her too!

Reports are that plenty of network execs, other than from Idol, think that Paula is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

"Now that Abdul is a free agent, she's already a hot commodity to networks looking to chip away at AI's ratings during this rare moment of weakness," read an article in Rolling Stone.

Back when Kara DioGuardi joined the American Idol judging panel, some fans raised eyebrows, and wondered if Fox was auditioning her -- to replace Paula. But in recent days both DioGuardi and Fox have said that was never the case -- that replacing Paula was never on the minds of Fox execs.

Still, in affairs of the heart, often the truth is shrouded in tales of "we still care about each other" and "we will always be friends." Fox's announcement of Paula's departure held that familiar tone. And of course, with break-ups, words get spoken and feelings get hurt. And generally those promises of "we will still be friends" lasts not much longer than it takes to speak those words.

Opinions seem overwhelming that Fox is making a mistake! Folks ask how could Fox let their arguably third biggest draw of their number one reality show simply walk away without really trying to keep her? Fans opine that Idol execs didn't mind coughing up big bucks for host Seacrest -- and will likely do the same for Simon when his new contract is finalized. But why not pay Paula? Is Fox like the fox in the hen house -- caught red handed for stealing Paula all of these years, now sheepishly hiding behind its insinuations that Paula is actually considerably less valuable to Idol than Ryan and Simon?!

Judging by the $3 million to $4 million dollar figures being tossed about as possibly Paula's most recent salary -- most Idol fans think that Paula has been Fox's biggest bargain of all!

Idol contestants love Paula and do not understand why she will not be back. They viewed her as "motherly" -- like the kindly mother hen with a watchful eye to make certain that they were doing well and treated right. They say she cared -- was the judge with a tender heart.

If anything, they say that Paula helped Fox! She made Fox look good -- giving Idol an appearance of feeling concern for its young contestants. And they say she helped Simon. Her tenderness countered Simon's sometimes harsh critiques, allowing him the luxury of speaking the harsher words without giving fans the feeling that the contestants were being picked on.

But no matter -- because it looks like there are plenty of suitors for the lady who has captured America's heart. Producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe has wanted Paula for "So You Think You Can Dance" from the get go -- saying that Fox was crazy to let her go and that he would be happy to welcome her as a guest judge/choreographer on his show.

ABC's entertainment president Steve McPherson said that he would love to see Paula as a judge on "Dancing With the Stars!" In fact, he said that he would love her either as a "participant or a contestant."

So why is Fox letting their gem walk away? Are they trying to save face after paying her a bargain salary for years? Or is Fox simply like the boy that has fallen out of love with the girl -- jilting Paula and trying to quickly move on to a new love?

Whatever the reasons, it seems that Fox's lovey-dovey feelings for Paula are not there -- and Fox is acting the boy that dumps the girl and can't wait to get out of town.

But if Paula does not suit Fox executive's fancy -- there are suitors who appreciate her sweetness and her cute, spunky and sparkling personality. Simply, where Fox may have fallen out of love -- there are plenty of others who feel differently!!

Perhaps, in the end, the best advice for Paula -- go with someone who loves you!!!!

KRIS ALLEN, DAVID COOK AND ADAM LAMBERT 'ROCK IT OUT OF THE PARK" IN GOOD MORNING AMERICA SERIES CONCERT!

Two American Idol winners and a runner-up -- Kris Allen, David Cook and Adam Lambert -- put on a rockin' show in the Good Morning America series in Central Park.

The three-Idol performers all "knocked it out of the park" -- so to speak. Allen wowed with "Heartless" by Kayne West -- a number from the American Idol tour set list and a particular favorite with fans.

David Cook performed his hit, "Come Back to Me."

And equally as popular as Idol winners, Lambert covered Muse's "Starlight."

An unexpected highlight of the show occurred when Cook brought this year's Idol duo onto the stage to assist with a completely amazing rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Little Lies." The three Idol alumni traded verses -- screamed in delight! It was American Idol great all over again -- at its very best!

With first American Idol Kelly Clarkson's photo gracing the cover of Self magazine, it seems that gossip fans tiring of chatting about Paula's departure from the show are now questioning whether the photo of a slim Clarkson was airbrushed.

"Despite constant scrutiny over her fuller figure -- some critics even sniped that she looks pregnant -- Kelly Clarkson appears in Self ... looking anything but insecure, if her confident grin and skimpy, revealing top are any indications," wrote nydailynews.

"Yes, of course we do post-production corrections on our images," SELF editor-in-chief Lucy Danziger told "Entertainment Tonight."

In a world in which show biz celebrities routinely turn to Botox for a youthful appearance, some of Clarkson's fans wonder why the gossip mongers are making "so much ado about nothing."

More importantly, Clarkson is on tour and wowing fans with her performances!"It is surprising that anyone cares," said Clarkson fan Priscilla Crosby.

"We all like to look nice in our photos, and I know that I have thrown away a few of myself that didn't look so good." Then she laughed, "I certainly would have airbrushed mine if I knew how to do that."

American Idols judge Simon Cowell told Contactmusic, "I've had Botox. But then again, pretty much everyone I know has."

And So You Think You Can Dance judge Mary Murphy admitted on air that she had Botox too.

"Kelly Clarkson exudes confidence, and is a great role model for women of all sizes and stages of their lives," continued Danziger in her interview. "She works out and is strong and healthy, and our picture shows her confidence and beauty. She literally glows from within. That is the feeling we'd all want to have. We love this cover and we love Kelly Clarkson."

And Clarkson, herself, is quoted from Self, "Sometimes I eat more; sometimes I play more. I'll be different sizes all the time. When people talk about my weight, I'm like, 'You seem to have a problem with it; I don't. I'm fine!' I've never felt uncomfortable on the red carpet or anything."

Clarkson certainly acts happy and comfortable. During the Self photo-shoot, she reported had a great time -- "danced along to pal Carrie Underwood's tunes while posing" and, following the shoot, inviting the crew to go along to see Star Trek with her.

Fans on message boards posted such messages as:"I think she looks fine either way. You can't please all of the people all the time. Her voice is great so what else really matters. She's hot any way she looks. If she is happy with herself, that's the most important thing."

And: "Why does anyone care? She was pretty then, and she is pretty now."

The consensus is that Clarkson is an amazing talent and is happy with her life.The chatter about an airbrushed cover simply does appear to be much ado about nothing! It seems time for a new topic of the day.

AMERICAN IDOL IS NOT PAYING SEACREST $15 MILLION A YEAR FOR WORK ON IDOL SHOW, ACCORDING TO FOX EXEC

Rumors that Seacrest inked a deal that increased his American Idol paycheck to $15 million a year are not accurate, said Fox Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice.

Seacrest, Rice explained, is not actually getting paid that amount for his work on Idol -- and, in fact, his contract with the show has not changed at all.

Rise said that while Seacrest may have gotten a raise, any additional money that he might earn has nothing to do with his work on American Idol. It would instead stem from a deal between the host and 19 Entertainment parent company CKX.

"Ryan made a deal with CKS," Rice said, "which encompasses much more than just 'Idol.' And Ryan is not being paid $15 million a year to be on 'Idol.'"

Last month Forbes reported that, according to reports, Seacrest did sign a $45 million contract with CKX "to remain with the News Corp-owned Fox show. The deal is believed to give the company exclusivity for Seacrest's on-camera services on broadcast TV."

The article continued, "The eight-figure salary sounds steep, but it's just a small sliver of the fortune the show's producers and distributors enjoy.

"Consider this: American Idol delivered $96 million in revenue for 19 Entertainment last year with gross profit margins ballooning to 77% during the period, according to the financial statements of CKX. FreemantleMedia, the series' production company, is believed to receive somewhere between one-third and one-half of the revenue steams 19 Entertainment sees from the show. Fox and 19 Entertainment declined comment."

"And according to TNS Media Intelligence, which tracks ad spending, the series generated $843 million in ad revenue in its most recent season. An average 30-second spot set Madison Avenue buyers back $707,000, the most expensive regular series ad buy in prime time." And Forbes says that Fox executives have "shrewdly" used the series as a platform to launch or boost other Fox shows.

While it may be true that Seacrest will not collect $15 million a year from Idol work, there hardly seems cause for his fans to worry about his finances. He was ranked #44 on Forbes 2009 Celebrity 100 list -- with his pay listed at $38 million.

And fans need not feel sorry for judge Simon Cowell either. Cowell is ranked #25 on the list with pay set at an even higher $75 million! And, of course, there has been talk that Cowell might not renew with Idol -- and talk that to renew he wants a signficant raise. Fobes wrot, "Most likely scenario: Idol stays, Cowell gets richer."

Forbes, in commenting on Seacrest: "The hardest-working man in entertainment: hosts American Idol, a top 40 radio countdown, E! News and other red-carpet events, plus ABC's New Year's Eve special. In addition to lucrative deals with both ClearChannel Radio and the Comcast Entertainment Group, he develops and produces TV shows, including E's Keeping up with the Kardashians and NBC's Momma's Boys. (He) has endorsement deals with Proctor & Gamble and Coca-Cola."

Throughout the days and now weeks of the Fox/Paula contract negotiations and her announced departure, American Idol contestants have stepped forward to say that Paula was the judge with the heart -- the judge who most loved and supported them.

Now last season favorite Adam Lambert has added his sentiments.

"I love Paula," Lambert told Rolling Stone, adding that he is certain that she will find success in her future.

"She obviously is going to miss interacting with all the Idol contestants," he opined. "She really loves that process of discovering new talent. I think she brings so much heart to the show. She's so supportive. She knows what it is like to be a performer, and she really provides a sense of safety for the auditioners in the room. I have no doubt her future endeavors will bring her success and happiness. She's got a lot that she's capable of.

Lambert told Rolling Stone that Paula always made him feel safe and loved. "It's hard when you're facing intense criticism from some of the more harsh judges on the show and you have millions of people behind the camera watching you. It's nice to have a presence in the room that will root for you and smile. And not only after the performances, but during the performance, she stands up, she claps, she smiles at you -- it's like a safety net."

And he recounted a Paula memory that is special to him. He said that she was so devoted to his season's contestants that she went to a parking lot to help them rehearse the choreography for their disco-night routine. "That was wild," he enthused. "Paula came to the recording studio and rehearsed with us with a car stereo. Too me that was the most surreal moment of the entire season. I was like, I can't believe I am dancing in a parking lot with Paula Abdul!"
