Jessica Simpson's father is attempting to move her into Paula Abdul's former spot on the American Idol judging panel, according to a new report.
"Joe Simpson, Jessica's manager, is said to be pressuring producers to employ the pop star," offers nationalledger.com.
"Jessica Simpson is being pushed to the producers by her father as the perfect replacement for Paula Abdul," the site quotes a source.
As for Abdul, the Dancing With The Stars celebrity line-up for the upcoming season was announced today -- with no mention of Paula. And ABC reportedly confirmed to Showtracker over the weekend that their talks with Abdul had fallen apart -- and Paula will not appear on the "Ugly Betty" tv show.
